Hecho en Brooklyn is a natural, green and fashionable line of accessories that is handmade so every single piece is unique. All of the jewelry is made from 100% recycled metals. We use fine or sterling silver which is then plated with 14K or 18K gold. We also use basic metals like copper, bronze, and aluminum.
The process that some jewelers use to make their jewelry can be very toxic. Whenever possible, we do not use harsh chemicals. Instead of toxics products, we use things you can find in your kitchen like baking soda, vinegar, salt, hot water and eggs.
Hecho en Brooklyn is designed by Franco, an artist from Bogota, Colombia that now resides in Brooklyn, NY. Franco’s styles, designs, and mediums have changed with time but his commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible work has not.
Franco worked primarily with seeds and beads in Colombia and began working with metals when he moved to Brooklyn.
